HOUSE UNDERPINNING

House underpinning generally occurs after cracks start to appear in the walls and floor of the family home or one notices the floors are bouncy, brick piers start to fall over or some doors are starting to jam. A property that sits on shaky or weak foundations won’t last long and can be very dangerous if the foundations were to completely collapse. In these cases, it is essential that you have your property underpinned as soon as possible.

Our job is to stop any further movement which can be achieved by placing solid pins of concrete under the moving walls/piers, jacking walls back into its previous position and then repairing the damage that has been done to walls, floors and ceilings.

Underpinning is achieved through the process of restoring and strengthening weak or deteriorated building foundations. The process involves excavating/inspecting around the property’s foundations to identify where the footings are weakened/cracked and inserting concrete/metal supports to the affected area. This stabilises the house and makes the property again able to be levelled and stops further deterioration.
